• Hunting: Navhda Natural Ability 94/112 (bird at water).

• Practical Hunting experience.

• Conformation: International All Breed Canine Association: National, International, and Honors Champion. Third in Group. First in rare breed show.

• Trailing: Level 1 Certificate in Urban, Suburban, as well as Rural. GAK9 method [30 min set time, 500 meters long trail, at least one turn, one road crossing, maximum of 15 min to complete, double blind] (Unlike a "tracking" dog that puts its nose directly into human footprints, a trailing dog follows airborne skin cells and gases that the wind blows off a person).

Femke is force-fetched (retrieve) trained and steady. She is ready for most parts of the NAVHDA gundog and UT tests, but still struggles with water work (duck retrieve and duck search).

Femke is ready for level 2 (specialist) GAK9 tracking-trailing tests and working on level 3 (expert) issues, such as navigating backtracking, circular tracks, and obstacles like creeks, and stoplights.

 

Judges qualification: excellent

Overall: Alert, top line perfect level, chest good and stable, tail nicely feathered, tail keeps wagging constantly.

Movement: Great front and back quarters; could work all day.

Coat & Color: Nice coat, nice coloring, no ticking.

Bite: Spot on.

Temperament: Sweet and Friendly.

Temperament and prizes

• Nederlands Jeugd Kampioen, this title is obtained after receiving three “Excellent” qualifications by different judges and awarded by the Dutch “Raad van Beheer” (equivalent of AKC) in November 2023.

• Beste Reu  (best male) op de KampioenschapsClubmatch van de Vereniging "De Drentsche Patrijshond" in March 2024.

• Best in Show (Pointing Breeds): Awarded 1th place (champion class Pointing Breeds) at the International Dog Show in Bleiswijk in May 2025.

• Best in Show (Dutch National Breeds): Awarded 2nd place at the International Dog Show in Maastricht in September 2025.

• Best in Show (Dutch National Breeds): Awarded 1th place for Drentsche Patrijshond breed and 2nd place for Dutch National Breeds at the Fryslan Cub in Leeuwarden in November 2025.

• Type: Typical representation of the breed.

• Movement: Fluid and light-footed movement, which is essential for a working gundog.

• Coat & Color: Excellent coat quality with the characteristic "plaat" (plate) markings and "spikkeling" (ticking) correctly distributed.

• Temperament: A friendly and stable presence in the ring.

E-Pica has no hunting background, but the passion and aptitude for hunting work (the 'will to work') is genetically deeply embedded due to the bloodlines of mother Mila-Monica-Babs v. Zoterbek and father Thor Feranti the Gloucester (who is a working field dog). His sisters perform very well during hunting training.
